Employment Services Support

We are currently recruiting for an Employment Services Support to join our team.   

OFE is a private, faith-based, non-profit organization. Our mission is to assist adults to achieve self-sufficiency through full-time, long-term employment. We are currently recruiting for the following position in our Community Home Services Program:

Position: Employment Services Support
EFT: 1.0 EFT (Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm)


Overview:
• Conducts information sessions and assessments for program applicants
• Interviews program applicants and assists with on-line Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry checks
• Communicates with OFE staff and referral partners regarding participant engagement
• Maintains daily attendance records for CHSP participants for payroll
• Purchases bus passes and maintains office and safety supplies
• Enters data, such as bus pass and participant data into the database
• Develops resumes, cover letters and conducts mock interviews
• Provides support to the front desk for holiday or break coverage and other instances of absence
• Provides coverage for facilitation of hire sessions, training modules or other employment development activities.

Necessary Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in a related field or the equivalent in experience (experience providing employment services would be preferred)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong administrative and organizational skills
• Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
• Solid understanding of barriers to employment and working with individuals from diverse cultures
• Knowledge of job searching techniques and local labour market trends
• Experience in developing resumes and cover letters
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database use
• Strong desire to work in a team environment
• Working knowledge of community resources providing services to low-income and multi-barrier clients
