Employment Coach/Liaison

We are currently recruiting for an Employment Coach/Liaison to join our team.

We are currently looking for an Employment Coach/Liaison for the Community Home Services ProgramThis is a full-time position Monday to Friday days.

 

Overview of the program:

The Community Home Services Program (CHSP) links income assistance participants to training and employment opportunities and also provides a range of supports to reduce barriers to employment; provides job readiness assessments and develops and supports initiatives in partnership with agencies. 

 An objective of the OFE CHSP program is to provide training through a paid work experience and to enhance employability through programming.   The goal of the program is to bridge participants into long-term sustainable employment.

 

An additional objective of the program is to provide housekeeping, yard work and snow removal services to eligible low-income seniors and persons living with a disability who live independently in the community. 

 

Overview of the position:

  • Involvement in facilitating weekly workshops and building relationships with current CHSP workers
  • Personal coaching of CHSP workers using Essential Skills Assessment Tool
  • Overseeing participants’ job search if customer services are cancelled
  • Creating, building and maintaining partnerships directly with employers in targeted industries such as hospitality, home care, customer service, administration, etc.
  • Leading intensified/structured daily job search, running networking groups
  • Conducting mock interviews to increase confidence/success in job interviews
  • Facilitating internal recruitment strategies and screening interviews with candidates we wish to connect to partner employers
  • In partnership with other employer liaisons, coordinating Employer Forums and other in-house employer events
  • Organizing and facilitating other in-house recruitment events and strategies for partner employers
  • Maintaining and strengthening relationships with current partner employers
  • Follow-up and coaching during first few months on the job both for the employee and employer

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or the equivalent in experience
  • In-depth knowledge of job searching techniques and local labour market trends
  • Experience in developing professional resumes and cover letters
  • Established network within the Winnipeg business community and knowledge of HR practices
  • Successful experience in group facilitation, coaching and leading
  • Experience in conducting assessments with individuals and groups from diverse cultures and varied life experiences
  • Ability to easily and quickly establish and maintain positive working relationships with multi-barriered job seekers
  • In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Consistent punctuality, accuracy and dependability
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Able to provide a clear criminal record check and child abuse registry check
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle would be an asset.  Alternately, travel throughout the city on public transit will be a regular requirement.

Sales Professional

(Monday to Friday days, Full-time)

We are currently recruiting for a dynamic, sales oriented individual to join our team.

The Sales Professional is responsible to broker training and employment opportunities for program participants.  The incumbent will contact employers directly to market the opportunity within the manufacturing or other sectors, strategically matching participants and the needs of employer partners by negotiating work experience, training opportunities and direct placements.

This position offers a competitive salary, free parking, participation in a group benefits plan and a pension plan.  OFE is located downtown Winnipeg, next to Bell MTS Place.  Our team of over 50 staff members is a dynamic group of professionals, committed to empowering job seekers and connecting them with local employers.

 Qualifications:

    • This position requires a self-motivated, out-going and optimistic person who has an entrepreneurial spirit.  Education or experience in business, sales/marketing, Human Resources, employment services or recruiting would be an asset in this position.
      • The successful candidate will have a proven track record in sales, be comfortable with cold calling and have the ability to multi-task, current computer skills, a valid class 5 driver’s license and daily access to a reliable vehicle.
      • Eligible applicants will be able to obtain a clear criminal record check upon request.
      • OFE operates Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm in downtown Winnipeg. The Employer Liaison will enjoy a mix of working in and out of the office, travelling throughout the city of Winnipeg and visiting various workplaces daily.
