Customers

Looking for help to stay in your home?
Are you a low income senior or a person with
a disability?
Do you need help with housekeeping, yard
care or snow removal?
CHSP staff provide housekeeping, yard care and snow
removal services to eligible low-income seniors and persons
with a disability who reside independently in the community.
Provision of these no-cost services is intended to assist
low-income individuals who cannot pay for such services and
who are at risk of losing their independence in the communi-
ty without such services being provided. Up to 30 individuals
form a team of dispatchers and field workers who delivered
a record breaking 9292 services to our customers in the
community this year. This is 11% higher than the previous
record of 8370 services set the year before. The quality of the
services was rated at an average of 4.5 out of 5.

TESTIMONIALS

Brandon

CHSP Employee

Brandon started CHSP with limited work experience and
social anxiety. With hands-on training, support and
workshops, Brandon was able to gain valuable working
experience and step out of his comfort zone which
helped ease his anxiety. During his time at CHSP, he
“realized the value of working, helping others, earning
money and pursuing employment.” After completing the
program, he was offered a position as a Cashier with
Cabela’s. Because of his strong work-ethic and passion
for the position, they promoted him to a full-time,
permanent Sales Floor position. Brandon will be cele-
brating his one-year anniversary this summer. Brandon
appreciated the coaching and support he received from
his CHSP team, saying that they helped him “work
through struggles and provided helpful pointers”. He is
thankful for the opportunity that allowed him to grow as
a person and develop his skills and confidence. He says
that CHSP has helped him achieve and expand his goals.
Having been meaningfully employed for a year, Brandon
is close to achieving his next goal: buying a home for him
and his two young children.

Rita

CHSP Customer

Rita has been a valued Community Home Services
customer since 2013. She suffers from severe arthritis
and has difficulty doing tasks around her home that she
used to be able to do with ease. Of the services she
receives, Rita says that she is “very appreciative!” She
finds that all of the workers are wonderful and very
friendly and do all of the things that she needs them to
do. Three years ago Rita experienced shingles and was in
extreme pain. She said that having CHSP services was a
“tremendous relief” to her and that it is always a “privi-
lege to have them” at her home. She enjoys being able to
make connections with the workers and values their
relationship. In her five years as a customer with CHSP,
Rita says she has never had a bad experience and “cannot
brag enough or show enough appreciation” for the
services from the workers and office staff. CHSP services
have made it possible for Rita to stay in the home she
loves. She now encourages her friends to look into
receiving the same services and benefits she does!
